Ken Ganley Volkswagen Willoughby Hills is excited to announce a new VW initiative toward charging VW ID.4 and those electric vehicles (EVs) soon to come. This will serve to make it ever-more convenient to access supercharging stations that are now marque-specific. Delivered as well will be shorter charging times outside Cleveland, OH.

As such, VW ID.4 and future Volkswagen EVs will be designed for this new charging application, called the North American Charging Standard (NACS).

What's Involved

The Volkswagen Group is one that's dedicated to improving charging methods and times of associated EVs. And given copious sums of federal funding, the charging infrastructure in the U.S. is being expanded with every passing day. One firm with an established network already in-place is Electrify America, with more than 3,800 DC fast charging units currently operating.

There are also brand-dedicated charging stations set up to service respective EV models – Tesla is one of the more conscientious with its Tesla Supercharger network comprising 15,000 supercharger sites. Volvo is another marque which has partnered with Starbucks to satisfy charging demand relative to electric vehicles produced and driven in Wickliffe.

What's Afoot for VW

As such, all newly developed Volkswagen EV models will be able to effect charges at these same locations for even more energizing opportunities. Though to the much-demanded VW ID.4, special Combined Charging System (CCS) adaptors are now in development.

"This is great news for our electric vehicle customers in the North American region," so said Mr. Pablo Di Si, president and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America. This then expands reach and accessibility to DC fast charging stations managed by Electrify America and those dedciated to other brands like Tesla near Willoughby Hills.

As the charging network grows, Euclid families are better able to apply the efficiency and convenience relative to Volkswagen ID.4.
